A mandala is a sacred circle that helps us access our inner knowing. Circles are found in all of life…in nature, in our day-to-day living, and within our global experience. Circles symbolize a continuous flow of energy. They also represent the interconnectedness of all things. In circles, we make connections between the parts of ourselves and with each other. Examples of some of my mandalas are provided below.
In this two-day workshop, we will explore circles as a form of sacred art. To get our creative juices flowing, we will identify circles in nature, create group mandalas, and experience the flowing power of sound and rhythm in drumming circles. Using colored pencils on black paper, we will create a variety of mandalas that help us look within and see ourselves in new ways. plenty of time will be given to develop images that are colorful and full of light. No prior artistic experience is required. All techniques are easy to learn and fun. Materials will be provided for a materials fee of $40.00.

Art is a form of expression that helps us connect with our own inner wisdom. In this two-day workshop, participants will have a chance to play like a kid with poster paints, crayons, and construction paper, completely enjoying the process of creation with no emphasis on “product.” Several exercises will be offered that invite us to understand ourselves better. We will learn how to express on paper what we feel in our bodies. Then, through a series of two-minute paintings we will create an energetic self-portrait that describes our own energy flow. We will create an intuitive painting that is personally symbolic. And using the principles of negative space and focal points, we will create a life collage. No artistic experience is needed to enjoy this class. The focus is on play and exploration. All materials will be provided for a materials fee of $40.
